Privacy policy
The short version: Mistimed doesn't collect any data about you. Your alarms, their history and the AI that writes and speaks each line all stay on your iPhone. There's no account, no analytics and no tracking.
Who we are
Mistimed is made by Jia Yan Lin. If you have a question about this policy, write to mistimed@ljyjeff.com.
What stays on your iPhone
To work, Mistimed keeps these on your phone, and only there:
- Your alarms: their times, labels, days and settings.
- A history of your alarms: when each one rang, when you stopped it and when you dismissed it. Mistimed uses it to learn when a Fun alarm should ring, and how far ahead a Nag voice may say the time is.
- The lines and voice clips made for each ring.
- A technical log of the app's own activity, to help diagnose problems. The app has no way to send it anywhere.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting Mistimed deletes all of it.
The AI runs on your phone
A Nag alarm's lines are written by a language model and spoken by a voice model, and both run on your iPhone. What you type, such as an alarm's label, is used only on your phone to write the line. No text or audio is sent to an AI service.
Downloads from Apple
The Nag voices (about 1.1 GB) download only when you ask. They come from Apple's servers, as part of the App Store, and Apple handles that download under Apple's privacy policy. Mistimed sends nothing of yours with it.
What we don't do
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party code that collects data.
- No access to your contacts, location, photos, microphone or health data. The only permission Mistimed asks for is to set alarms.
Backups and crash reports
Like any app's data, Mistimed's data is included in your iCloud or computer backups if you have them turned on. Those backups are yours, under your Apple account.
If you've turned on Share With App Developers in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements, Apple may pass us crash reports. They come from Apple, under Apple's privacy policy.
Children
Mistimed doesn't collect data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will say what changed and the date at the top will move. If Mistimed ever starts collecting data, this page will say so before the app does.
